LONGPLEX Phase III Reopening plan

General Guidelines

Summary of operations:

During this portion of Phase III, Longplex plans to offer adult and youth sports practices, adult and youth sports games, training camps, and other various space rentals in accordance with CDC and RIDOH guidelines. Open play and walk-ins remain suspended.

Space and occupancy limits:

  • The total number of occupants in the facility shall not exceed 1 person per 100 sq. ft. This limit also applies to each designated space, where applicable.
  • There shall not be more than 25 participants on a field/court at a time – this includes any coaches, staff, or any other individuals that are participating with the group. More participants may be allowed, up to the occupancy limits, for specific activities upon approval.
  • Groups/teams must remain in their designated space for the duration of their rental/game. If an individual must leave their designated space (use of the bathroom, talk to a staff member, retrieve a ball, etc) they must do their best to maintain a safe distance from all other individuals and groups.
  • Loitering will not be allowed inside or outside the facility. Standing around entrances or exits is strictly prohibited.

Distancing

All guests must maintain a minimum of 6’ distancing from all other guests and staff members at all times.

Face masks and coverings:

Face masks/coverings are mandatory for all guests upon entrance and in all common areas of the facility.

Cleaning:

  • All guests are encouraged to wash and/or sanitize hands upon entering and exiting the facility and before and after activity. Longplex will provide hand sanitizer at the main entrance and in high-traffic areas throughout the facility.
  • All shared-use items (sporting equipment, player benches, pens, etc) will be cleaned/disinfected between each rental/game.
  • All high traffic areas and commonly touched surfaces will be cleaned/disinfected multiple times per day.
  • All bathrooms will be cleaned/disinfected multiple times per day.
  • All other areas will undergo a thorough cleaning/disinfecting at least once per day.
  • The supply of hand soap, hand sanitizer, and disinfectant spray will be closely monitored, making sure to keep plenty of extra in stock.

Procedures:

  • All guests must fill out a liability waiver, COVID-19 screening form, and are subject to a temperature check upon entering the facility each day.
  • Any guests that are feeling sick and/or are showing symptoms of COVID-19 will be denied access to the facility.
  • One-way traffic will be created at the main entrance with the use of signs, floor markings, and rope barriers.
  • 6’ spacing will be marked at the entrance and main lobby in order to eliminate any confusion and “bunching” of people in a high traffic area.
  • A staff member will help assist guests at the entrance and monitor the flow of traffic.
  • Signs will be posted around facility to remind guests to wear face masks and maintain 6’ distancing.
  • Signs will be posted in bathrooms reminding guests to wash hands.
  • Necessary information for contact tracing will be kept in case of an outbreak.
  • RIDOH will be immediately contacted upon being informed of a positive case amongst staff and or guests. 401.222.8022 (211 after hours)
  • Any individual who is tested positive for COVID-19 or has been in direct contact with someone with COVID-19, be it participant, guest, or staff member, shall not be permitted to return until they are cleared to safely do so (a minimum of 14 days from date of exposure).

League-Specific Guidelines

Prior to arrival:

  • Teams must designate a primary contact for all communications with Longplex.
  • Primary contacts must pass along all pertinent information and Longplex COVID-19 guidelines to all members of the team so that there are no surprises or confusion upon arrival.
  • Rosters must be submitted prior to the start of each league and must remain the same for the duration of the league. All substitutions must be approved.
  • To minimize unnecessary contact with staff members, and to keep a steady flow of guests at the entrance, all outstanding balances must be paid in full prior to arrival. If a participant enters the facility with a balance due, they will be asked to leave the facility until it is paid. Payments can be made online or over the phone.

At the facility:

  • Longplex has the right to enforce all facility-specific guidelines in all common areas of the facility as listed here and in our Longplex Phase III Reopening Plan General Guidelines.
  • If any activity or behavior is deemed unsafe for other guests or staff members, the team or individual will be asked to adjust their activity or behavior or may even be instructed to leave the facility in some cases.
  • Participants cannot enter the facility earlier than 15 minutes prior to the start of the game. Participants must not congregate around the entrance/exit or in parking areas while waiting. Participants are encouraged to remain in their vehicles until allowed to enter. Exceptions will be made for hockey goalies, who can enter up to 25 minutes prior to the start of the game.
  • Face masks are mandatory in all common areas of the facility, including bathrooms, changing areas, etc.
  • Teams will have designated changing areas that will be sanitized between games.
  • Participants must practice safe distancing in changing areas.
  • Spectators are strongly discouraged but are allowed at the rate of one guest per participant. Spectators will have a designated space for viewing and must wear masks at all times and remain a minimum of 6’ from all non-household members.
  • If occupancy needs to be limited for safety reasons, participants will always have priority over spectators.

Gameplay:

  • Teams must remain in their designated space for the duration of their game. If an individual must leave their designated space (use of the bathroom, talk to a staff member, retrieve a ball/puck, etc) they must do their best to maintain a safe distance from all other individuals and groups.
  • Participants are strongly discouraged from sharing equipment, water bottles, etc.
  • Spitting and nose-blowing will not be allowed.
  • Participants must practice safe distancing on team benches.
  • Face masks are required on team benches but may be temporarily pulled down (when properly distanced) in order to hydrate or catch breath.
  • Face masks are suggested when engaged in physical activity on the playing surface, but they are not mandatory.
  • When lining up for game starts and restarts (faceoffs, tip-offs, etc) participants must do their best to avoid close contact with the opposing team.
  • During gameplay, participants must do their best to minimize close contact with all other participants.
  • Participants must respect our referee’s space. If any rule clarifications or disputes must take place, only the team captains are allowed to converse with the referees (within a safe distance).
  • Players are discouraged from celebratory physical contact (no hugging, high fives, etc).
  • Due to their close proximity to the scorekeeper, penalty boxes will be closed off. All penalties will be served on the player benches.
  • Participants will be warned if engaging in deliberate unnecessary contact with other players, referees, or staff members. Excessive or repetitive contact will result in an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and/or ejection from the game.
  • No refunds will be given if a team or individual is removed due to deliberate disregard and non-compliance with Longplex COVID-19 guidelines.

Postgame:

  • Post-game handshakes will not be allowed.
  • Participants must leave the facility immediately after the game is complete (a maximum of 15 minutes will be allowed if participants are changing out of full equipment).
  • All participants must do their best to not interact with other guests or groups who are currently in the facility or entering/leaving at the same time.
  • No loitering will be allowed inside or outside of the facility.
  • Showers remain closed until further notice.
